The British government has been cautioning Prince Harry against inviting the Obamas to the Royal Wedding out of fears that Donald Trump would be infuriated by the gesture, according to the British newspaper, the Sun.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have both expressed that they would like to have Barack and Michelle Obama there for the big day on May 19th. Prince Harry has developed a fine friendship with the Obamas after they had the opportunity to bond during the Invictus Games; but Britain’s relationship with Trump’s White House is at an all-time low.
If Obama receives an invitation where Trump does not, it will certainly not bode well with the controversial President, and there is no doubt that diplomacy between nations could be strained in the face of Trump’s ire.
Harry and Meghan’s disdain for Donald Trump is no secret at all, as evidenced by Markle’s criticism of the President on social media throughout his election campaign in 2016.
